“You tried to kill my boys”

Chris Eubank Sr still has a grudge against the promoters for trying to make the fight happen, despite the fact that Conor Benn vs Chris Eubank Jr was cancelled.

The British duo were set to clash last weekend but they were canceled after Benn tested positive. Clomifene.

Before it was cancelled, Eubank Jr. vs Benn was set to make over a million pay per-view purchases.

Clomifene is a drug used to treat infertility, but it can also increase testosterone levels in males.

Despite Benn’s failed drugs testEubank Sr is convinced that the 26 year-old is still a fighter.

The two-weight world champion insists instead that it is Benn and his family who are the problem.

“When I look at a fighter, I look at the spirit in them,” Eubank Sr. spoke on The Fight is Right podcast.

“Conor would have had no idea, in my view, of what they would suggest he should have. I’ve seen them do it. I’ve watched them.

“These are men who are going to be rooted out of this game, because they’re not fighters, they’re PE teachers.

“I respect them but not when they’re harming fighters because, in my view, when I look at Conor Benn, that’s a pure young man.”

Eubank Sr. had tried to stop the fight and even encouraged people to boycott the clash before news of the failed drugs test emerged, due to concerns over his son’s health because of the significant weight cut he had to undergo.

The fight was settled at a catchweight 157 lbs. Eubank Jr. had campaigned between 160-168 pounds for the majority his career and even admitted that he has not weighed in that low in weight since he was 18.

Even after Benn failed a drugs test, the promoters involved with the bout still attempted to bypass the BBBoC (British Boxing Board of Control) ruling to ‘prohibit’ the fight, but they were unsuccessful and now Eubank Sr has accused them of trying to ‘murder’ his son.

“I said to him [Conor] before ‘Don’t to this, you have a glittering career in front of you. The Americans can be defeated. Why don’t we partner up? Our team against the American team?’ I spoke to him like a dad should speak to a son. They’re not like me,” Eubank Sr said.

Eddie Hearn is a promoter for Benn, and Kalle Sauerland the promoter for Eubank Jr.

“I said to Nigel [Benn] don’t come to these speaking engagements. It’s going to be too much pressure on you because you let them lead your son into a pit. A snare.

“That boy’s clean. He’s a clean man and a great fighter. You have toddlers who look after our fighters. Toddlers.

“These guys they call managers and promoters. These guys, I’m coming for you. You tried to kill my boys. I’m coming for you.”
