Wakanda Forever: Black Panther Many people are wondering who the Black Panther is, after its release. Considering Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa had culturally impacted the world as the first African hero, who now possesses the mantle naturally becomes a crucial question. There are already many theories floating around, with Shuri, Nakia, Okoye, and M’Baku’s names coming up on the list, which may or may not be entirely accurate.
During an interview with them, Lupita Nyong’o (Nakia), and Danai Gura (Okoye), Wakanda Forever actors challenged these theories further Elle. Gurira says that fans haven’t guessed the new Black Panther’s identity, “They’re not getting all of it right!“, to which Nyong’o added, “No, they haven’t guessed it at all.”
Many fans have created a list of all actors capable of playing the role. Teasers and trailers also feature a female Black Panther. However, Screen Rant states that there may be an alternative theory: while Shuri will take on the role, she won’t be the only one to do so.
What does it mean for two or more Black Panthers to exist?
Boseman’s portrayal was so significant that Marvel decided to not recast any actor anytime soon out of respect for the late actor and what he signified. This means that Shuri will likely be the next Black Panther, but having another Black Panther will allow fans favourites Nakia and Okoye to show how worthy they are, as shown in the previous installment. Fans will be delighted to see them play a central role.
Secondly, multiple Black Panthers, also show that Wakanda is ready to come together against the evil forces, which can work since T’Challa was a crucial figure and irreplaceable. Their unity serves two purposes: to preserve T’Challa’s memory and to show that he taught his people how to be the Black Panther.

It is a great country, but there are still questions about where the Black Panthers will end up. According to Screen Rant, T’Challa’s victory against Zemo and Thanos helped him to be an Avenger. The new Black Panthers will have to decide whether they want to continue their superhero role after winning the Wakanda Forever fight. If the latter theory holds, Black Panther will become a common expression, just like wizards or orcs. If we have only one hero, they will rise when the Avengers unite again.
People would love to see the director’s new ideas, despite all of it. Shuri’s role is played by Letitia Wing mentioned that the movie was made as a “love letter” to the deceased actor. “Well, firstly I can tell you, you know, the first movie did so well. We had a significant cultural impact on society and influenced change. And this film is… We’re trying to follow that, you know, of inspiring everybody that goes to see it. Dominique Thorne and Michaela Colel have joined the cast. So it’s jam-packed with lots of adventures. I feel, for me, it’s a beautiful contribution to Chadwick’s legacy. I feel like it’s a love letter to him. Every day I was on set, I concentrated my energy on the scene that I wanted to dedicate to him. I wanted to dedicate excellence to this film so that he could be proud,” she said.
