Manchester City’s trip to face Paris Saint-Germain was given top billing heading into yesterday evening, and it delivered emphatically.
The two teams, who have struggled in the Champions League this season, played out a goalless (yet entertaining) first half with neither side wanting to give too much away.
But the second half exploded into life straight away. Jack Grealish, fresh from the bench, and Erling Haaland both scored within the space of three minutes to give City a commanding lead. But they were soon pegged back.
Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barcola scored equally quickly for the home side to level the game. As City regressed, PSG found another gear and Joao Neves popped up with a brilliant — but free — header to make it 3-2.
Goncalo Ramos put the icing on an extraordinary 4-2 win, firing past Ederson into the top corner deep into stoppage time to give the French champions a much needed win.
