Starbucks loyalty customers who visit licensed Kroger and airport stores will be granted all the perks that come with a standalone Starbucks.
Starbucks will now offer rewards and mobile ordering to licensed outlets, announced Chief Marketing Officer Brady Brewer at the Starbucks Investor Day in Seattle, September 13. Brewer explained that both mobile ordering and rewards were key factors in the company’s recent growth, which was accelerated by the pandemic.
Brewer said that currently, the company provides an “inconsistent” experience across locations. Starbucks Connect will be available in all licensed Starbucks stores to provide the same experience.
Starbucks has about 7,000 licensees in North America. They account for approximately a third of all stores as of August 2022. Brewer stated that approximately 1,400 have adopted Starbucks Connect. They contributed about 12% to the third quarter’s sales. More than $900 million in revenues
Customers love to order from Starbucks via mobile or in rewards.
Starbucks has one Most successful rewards memberships in the fast food business. Starbucks stated that 1 in 10 US adults are Starbucks rewards members. Starbucks rewards members can earn points by using their app. They can then be used to receive free food and drink. Starbucks also claims that 25% of all orders are placed via mobile devices. Starbucks Connect will make the service available at airport locations and grocery stores.
The company did not disclose when these changes would occur.
