Sheryl Crow and LeAnn Rimes are returning to The Voice with brand new titles.
The two Grammy-winning singers are coming to the aid of this year’s coaches on the singing competition show’s 27th season. Together, they’ll serve as “mega mentors,” helping judges Kelsea Ballerini, Michael Bublé, John Legend and Adam Levine prepare their artists for the next round of the show.
While Crow and Rimes have never fulfilled this particular role before, neither of them are brand new to the world of The Voice. Rimes previously served as a coach on The Voice UK and The Voice Australia, while Crow popped in to US edition way back in season 4 to sing a duet with former host Blake Shelton and help mentor his team.

This time around, Crow and Rimes are tasked with helping the current mentors prepare each of their five artists to compete in the show’s Playoffs round, which sees the singers face off against one another for a chance to remain on the show. Crow is slated to join forces with Ballerini and Bublé, while Rimes is teaming up with Legend and Levine.
Previous mega mentors include Jennifer Hudson, Wynonna Judd, Sting, and Reba McEntire.

Like their predecessors, Crow and Rimes will use their musical expertise and industry knowledge to guide the artists towards a successful performance. The stakes will be high for the twenty remaining singers — while they have time to prepare and get advice from their mentors, coaches will ultimately choose just two artists from their team to advance through to the Live Show round.
