Robert Helenius stuns by Deontay Wester’s knockout in the first round

Deontay Wilder didn’t need very long to snap his losing streak.

The First round of his boutHelenius believed he was going on the attack against Robert Helenius Saturday night by moving Wilder to the corner. But it’s almost exactly where Wilder wanted to be. Helenius was slapped in the face with his right hand. He then sent him to the ground. Helenius was stunned when he fell to the ground.

“I set him up,” Wilder said. Wilder stated, “I allowed him access, and when I reached, he attacked. It was a fierce fight.

The win marks Wilder’s first since defeating Luis Ortiz via knockout in November 2019. He lost in two fights against Tyson Fury, which he had previously won. Fury won via TKO on February 2020, and via knockout on October 2021.

Wilder could be in line to challenge for the heavyweight title Oleksandr UsykHe is the proud owner of three championship belts. Andy Ruiz Jr. and Anthony Joshua could be next to fight Wilder.

“I’ve been hearing rumors about Usyk, but he’s not here, is he?” Wilder agreed. Wilder said, “When guys see these knockouts they turn the corner away.”

Wilder was undefeated against all other opponents before the 2018 split decision draw against Fury. He has never been up against Joshua or Ruiz.

Helenius’ loss snapped his three-bout winning streak. He had previously defeated Adam Kownacki twice, and Mateus Osorio Osorio, before the Wilder loss.
