It would be pretty difficult to find someone who hadn’t seen Power Rangers if you grew up in the 90’s. When most people say Power Rangers, the first thing that generally pops into mind is the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers TV show. It quickly became a Saturday morning fixture and such was the craze that you couldn’t go anywhere without seeing at least one kid in their favourite Ranger T-shirt or carrying their action figure around.
Though the show might appear a bit comical now, the fight scenes in Power Rangers were quite amazing for the time. Watching the heroes kick the crap out of supervillains, dishing their ace martial arts mixed with magic and tech, was quite a satisfying experience. Now, what if we say, there’s a good chance you’ll watch Power Rangers return?
Well, the talks of it have been going on for years and previously Hasbro came very close to developing a project based on Power Rangers with Netflix and Paramount, but the reboot never materialised. Now, a report by Comicbook suggests that a new movie could be in early development at Paramount. This new project has no connection to the one that was being developed previously at Netflix.
It is important to note the project is in early development, nothing about its plot and cast has been revealed. Moreover, an official confirmation about the project is yet awaited. If things materialise you might see a new Power Rangers film till 2026.
