Lightning Cole suspendu last week pending the results of the NHL’s investigation into allegations that he groomed and sexually assaulted a woman, starting from when she was a minor in high school.
The league said its investigation included two separate interviews with Cole, as well as interviews with NHL club personnel and “other individuals with potentially relevant information.” The NHL says it also attempted to make contact with the anonymous source of the social media post, but those efforts were unsuccessful.
