Kim Soo-hyun breaks silence on rumours claiming he didn’t pay court fees

Kim Soo-hyun has been making headlines ever since Kim Sae-ron’s aunt claimed that he had a relationship with the late actress, starting when she was just 15 and he was 27. In his defense, the ‘Queen of Tears‘ star later held a press conference where he revealed that he dated her when she was an adult and that their relationship lasted for a year.

Post that, Soo-hyun’s agency, GOLD MEDALIST, filed a 12 billion KRW defamation lawsuit against Sae-ron’s family and the infamous YouTube channel GaroSero for ruining his reputation by spreading lies.

Fast forward to now, it was reported that Soo-hyun’s legal team had missed a key deadline for paying court fees and requested an extension, sparking speculation about financial trouble. It was said that he failed to pay a required sum of 38,000,000 KRW to the court. But now, his legal representative at LKB & Partners has issued a statement at YTN Star, calling the reports baseless.

They stated, “We paid all the necessary court fees and delivery charges. It is not true that we failed to pay the lawsuit fees.” The team further clarified the reason behind the deadline extension, saying, “The request to extend the correction deadline was made to fix the defendant’s address, not because of unpaid fees.”

Kim Sae-ron was found dead at her residence in Seoul, South Korea, on February 16, 2025, which also marks Soo-hyun’s birthday. Her death was ruled a suicide.

On the other hand, Soo-hyun is set to star in Disney+ K-drama ‘Knock Off‘ alongside Jo Bo-ah. However, due to the controversy, the project has been put on hold.
