Fox News Digital obtained the full text message exchange between Porter and Khan following a fight that broke out at the congresswoman’s July 2021 town hall that saw the man Porter lives with arrested.
Porter criticised Khan in the texts. She said she wouldn’t call Khan after Julian Willis was arrested. Willis allegedly punched a pro Trump protester, giving him a bloody nose.

“I have never done anything for you.” Porter said, “You cannot say the opposite.” Porter wrote, “I have assisted you in your campaign and tried my best to be a good friend.” I don’t owe you a phone call.”

In one of her text messages to Farrah Khan, Irvine Mayor, Katie Porter, D.Calif., said that she didn’t owe her a call and then added, “You can lecture us on professionalism.” See what happens.

“You can lecture on professionalism. “And see what happens,” Porter said, despite wearing a Batgirl costume to the House of Representatives the day Democrats voted on ground rules for the impeachment investigation surrounding Trump. On Twitter, the National Republican Congressional Committee and other Republicans mocked Porter’s costume.
“As I have been with you, even though I feel like I’m treated very poorly,” Khan responded.
Porter asked Khan to tell her how she has “helped” her, texting “I’m listening” and telling Khan she “can take the advice about Bogarting stuff or not.”
“It is up to you. Porter wrote that Porter was not the only one. “I am just [the]Only one can give you that kind of advice if they respect you.
Khan replied, “I have supported your family for a long time in many different ways and will continue to do so,” Khan said.
The two Democrat officials Also sparred over Khan and her executive assistant Cory Allen going to a Mexican restaurant where Porter was eating, with the congresswoman taking aim at the mayor’s reputation and making the barbs personal.
Porter wrote that “And the following time I have a high-ranking official come, you only should come to things that you are invited to.” It was absurd to walk by a Mexican restaurant. You have a reputation of not staying in your lane, and seeking attention. And the result is we’ll keep things out of Irvine next time.”
“You must hear this [because]Porter stated that this is a negative sign for others’ willingness to work together. “Tammy, Dave, Santa Ana mayor [Vicente Sarmiento]It was all wonderful. Your staff felt stressed.”
“That’s quite a leap you’re taking,” Khan fired back. “I’m sorry, but Cory and I were planning on going to the Mexican restaurant that day, when we saw the security vehicles we went somewhere else. I attended all events that Secretary invited me to. [Marty] Walsh’s staff, [the Orange County Labor Federation]Your staff or [Irvine Unified School District].”

It’s not clear what sparked this Mexican restaurant spat between Porter and Khan (pictured in center), but it further illustrates their turbulent relationship.

“It just so happened that you were at this particular Mexican restaurant ????”.” Porter replied. “Please.”
It’s not clear what sparked this spat at a Mexican restaurant, but it highlights the turbulent relationship between these two California Democrats.
The exchange saw the Democrats return to very formal salutations, and a communication style that referred to each other only by their titles.
Neither Porter’s nor Khan’s offices responded to Fox News Digital’s requests for comment.
Fox News Digital reported that Jordan Wong, Porter spokesperson, stated that the congresswoman was “upset” at the way extremists hijacked a planned family-friendly town meeting. They made constituents feel unsafe.
Wong stated that she was disappointed that officers were not there to intervene when fighting broke out, despite staff alerting them days prior to the event that extremists had been openly threatening the town hall.
“Since then Rep. Porter’s office have worked productively avec the Irvine Police Department, which included the Congresswoman hosting her new chief of police in her office for constructive and cooperative meetings,” he said.

The congresswoman — a former law professor who was paid more than $285,000 one year during her time at the University of California, Irvine — made headlines when it was revealed she earned thousands of dollars in royalty fees from law school textbooks that she required her own students to purchase for the courses she taught.
According to Transparent California, Porter was paid $286674 per semester to teach two courses at the institution in 2017.
Porter, who arrived in Washington in January 2020, has been a campaigner for making education more affordable to Americans. She stated that in 2020 the American political system had “favored the wealthy and the well-connected for too long”, as “powerful people live and work in one reality while we live and learn in another.”
