Patrick Mahomes had his best overall game of the season on Monday Night Football, throwing for 291 yards and three touchdowns in the rain at Arrowhead. He developed an impressive rapport with newly acquired DeAndre Hopkins as the pair connected for two touchdowns.
In the second half, after tossing a touchdown pass to Samaje Perine, Mahomes appeared to suffer a non-contact injury and had to be helped to the sideline. A few minutes later, however, he was seen jogging on the sideline and remained in the game, ultimately leading two more touchdown drives.
Speaking after the game about injuring his ankle, Mahomes said: “I committed to running and I saw Samaje (Perine) at the last second. It scared me a little bit. … It ended up not too bad.”
