A New York Metropolis Jewish man was repeatedly punched and robbed on the primary day of Hanukkah outdoors his residence in Brooklyn.
The suspect approached the sufferer in entrance of 906 Japanese Parkway simply after 7:30 p.m., police stated. The sufferer, a 40-year-old male, was carrying “conventional Jewish apparel,” per the NYPD.
The suspect repeatedly punched the sufferer within the head and stole his cellphone whereas making an antisemitic assertion, police stated.

Merenfeld instructed FOX 5 NYC he was having a cigarette outdoors his residence when he was attacked from behind.
“He sucker-punched me, pushed me over, assaulted me,” Merenfeld stated.
Merenfeld instructed the outlet the attacker knocked him to the bottom, repeatedly kicked him, whereas yelling antisemitic slurs.

“I would like this individual caught,” he stated. “It is a harmful individual.”
Thursday’s assault comes amid a steep rise in antisemitic incidents nationwide and world wide amid Israel’s ongoing battle with Hamas in response to the militant group’s lethal assault on Oct. 7.
Earlier that afternoon, a 28-year-old man was arrested for allegedly firing a shotgun into the air and shouting “Free Palestine” outdoors a synagogue in New York’s capital.
The suspect was later recognized as Mufid Fawaz Alkhader, an Iraqi-born U.S. citizen who instructed investigators he felt affected by occasions within the Center East.
