The San Francisco Giants have hired Pete Putila to be the team’s next general manager, per an announcement shared via Twitter on Monday.
Putila visits San Francisco through the AstrosAfter serving as the director for player development, he was promoted to assistant general manager at the organization. His career in Houston began as a baseball operations intern in 2011.
Scott Harris, who was previously the general manager, was appointed by the Tigers last month to become Detroit’s president of baseball operations.
The hiring was announced by Farhan Zaidi, the Giants’ president of baseball operations.
