Elon Musk’s “X” Sign has already been removed from San Francisco Headquarters

Social media users discussed the signs on Monday after photos of workers deconstructing them appeared. Musk’s decision rebranding Twitter to X . This is the latest in the ongoing saga of X’s San Francisco HQ. Musk’s App went viral with photos and videos after the sign installation on Friday. Users were discussing the new look. One viral post noted that the sign — which had bright and sometimes strobing lights — was aimed directly at the building across the street.

Christopher J. Beale responded to the original post by Sharing a video of the bright sign from a window in his home. Beale confirmed the news in an exclusive interview with KTVU that he lives across the street from X’s headquarters. 

“Around 11:00 last night, it was on full blast and strobing. It lit up the entire area as if it were daylight,” he said to the outlet. “Even with the shades down…, it was to the point where we couldn’t even watch the movie we were trying to watch in the living room and we had to move to the other side of the apartment.”

Separately, officials from the city also expressed concerns over Musk’s removal of the original Twitter sign.

San Francisco Police Department intervened last week when workers from the construction industry attempted to remove an original sign. The department cited “a possible street closure that was not permitted” as the reason for stopping the crew. The authorities later determined that there was no crime committed and “the incident was not a matter of police.” 

The city officials were also involved in the installation of the new X-sign, as reported by the Associated Press. The outlet reported that San Francisco filed a complaint, and began an investigation into a possible violation of a permit.
