A Terrifying Escape After a Car Crash
For Jennifer Sharp, her worst nightmare unfolded when her beloved 2-year-old dog, Honey, escaped into the night after a car accident.
Late Sunday night in Boardman, Jennifer and her family were involved in a serious crash. In the chaos of the moment, Honey, a lab/pit bull mix, was spooked by the sirens and bolted from the scene.
“It was horrific, I didn’t know if I would ever get her back,” Jennifer recalled.
For nearly three days, Honey was on the run, scared and lost.

After days of searching, Honey was finally spotted hunkering down early Wednesday morning.
This was Jennifer’s moment.
She carefully approached Honey and started calling her name.
At first, Honey hesitated. But then, she recognized her owner—and in that instant, she raced into Jennifer’s arms.
“I knew if I just had that one chance with her, that she would come to me,” Jennifer said.
The emotional reunion left everyone in tears.
“It meant the world to me,” she added. “This is my best friend. If I lost her, I felt like I lost a piece of me.”

Just one day later, the drone team was back in action, searching for another missing dog, a cocker spaniel named Theo.
But this time, the search took an unexpected turn.
✔ Theo’s owner received a suspicious call from an unknown number.
✔ The caller claimed to have Theo and demanded money before returning him.
✔ Luckily, Theo’s owner knew better—it was a scam.
Just an hour after the fake call, Theo was spotted in a field and was safely reunited with his family—thanks to the same aerial rescue team.
“Scammers prey on desperate pet owners,” Dzurinda warned. “You should never have to pay before knowing where your dog is.”
