Haberman wrote that she’d heard Trump use similar terms to describe DeSantis. She also remembered from sources that Trump had called DeSantis fat, phony, and whiny while also taking credit to the latter winning the governor’s office in 2018.

“The answer is yes, I believe so. This is how I view it. Haberman wrote about Trump’s response, “I have so many wealthy friends and nobody knows their names.”
She said, “Reflecting upon the meaning of being president of the United States was his first impulse not to mention public services or what he felt had been accomplished, but that it seemed to be a vehicle to fame and many experiences were only worthwhile if someone else envied them.”
