Maggie lived in an empty yard for many years. Maggie lived alone in a filthy yard for many years. Her only home was a decaying wooden box. She was covered in flea bites and had to be restrained with a small rope so that she could run or play.
Maggie didn’t let any of it get to her spirit, though. Her extreme trustworthiness was a surprise to rescuers when she first appeared.
According to Worthy Dog Rescue’s Facebook post, she clearly loved people. She was excited to wave her tail when she received even the slightest human attention.
The friendly senior was brought to the shelter where she began to relax from her stressful home life and received treatment for her skin problem.
Maggie was clearly happy inside. As she gained more strength, Maggie felt happier on the outside.
Maggie was an elderly dog that needed to be the only one in her family. The rescuers were worried that Maggie would need a long time before finding a permanent home.
They did everything they could to make Maggie happy. In the weeks that followed, Maggie learned what it meant for Maggie to be taken care of. She worked hard in hopes that someone would give her a chance with her new skills.
She traveled with some amazing foster homes who “trained her how to be a part of a family, working on her leash manners and getting her more comfortable around other dogs,” according to a statement from Worthy Dog Rescue. “We… anticipated that her adoption would take time as a senior Bully-mix who had endured a horrible life.”
A woman eventually discovered Maggie’s biography on the shelter’s website. Although she had already applied to foster another dog, the woman saw Maggie and knew that they were meant to be together.
According to the rescue, “[it] was a life-changing experience for Maggie.” “[Her new mom] had a flexible schedule and offered an only dog home, so she could give her the time and attention she needed.”
The dog who had never had a playmate before now enjoys walks and fetch games. Maggie was initially anxious about dogs. However, she is now more comfortable around them and can maintain her composure. She enjoys begging for scratches while cuddling up on her family’s lap.
Maggie’s new mother told Worthy Dog Rescue, “I didn’t think I could love another dog after putting my Lab down at nearly 13 years old.” But we can’t fathom our lives without this girl since we are so in love with her.
Maggie’s new family has already had such an impact on her life, and she has also been there for them, giving them a lot of love and support.
She’s had a significant influence on the young youngster in her new home, a Worthy Dog Rescue spokesperson told The Dodo. It is truly amazing.
Maggie, who used to sleep on old, filthy wood pieces, now sleeps on a plush sofa. She is sure that her new family will take good care of her.
