Venus, a year old German Shepherd with white fur, was abandoned by her owner in large parts of the desert near the freeway.
Venus kept herself hydrated for several days by sitting in a small pool of water to keep her cool during the 100F heat waves. Thankfully, someone spotted her hardships and contacted “Hope For Paws” for rescue services.

They realized right away that Venus was afraid of strangers when they arrived at the freeway to rescue her.
The rescuers waited for her to trust them and tried all day to avoid any road accident. They were forced to use a tranquilizer dat to free her from the desert after they failed to succeed.

When it became too late to bring Venus back to the shelter, rescuers took Venus to an emergency vet unit. They provided emergency medical care and Venus woke up scared.
But by morning, she was warm to her rescuer! Venus was later taken to shelter, where she took a much-needed bath.
