People familiar with the matter say that Donald Trump’s PAC spent $40.2m this year on funding the legal battles of the former president and his advisors. The Washington Post. The Post reported this as the PAC’s biggest expense during its presidential campaign of 2024.

Trump’s legal battles There has been a pile-up — earlier this year, he was indicted on charges related to a $130,000 payment made to porn star Stormy Daniels, and in June he was indicted on charges connected to his handling of classified documents.
He is also under investigation in Georgia for allegedly trying to influence the results of the 2020 elections, and in Washington DC in connection with a riot that occurred on January 6, 2021.
