Cristiano Gianutoli has confirmed that he will be joining Juventus after Napoli confirmed his resignation as sporting director.
Following talks with Aurelio DeLaurentiis Friday, the 51 year old opted out of the last year of his Napoli deal.
The club confirmed his departure and said in a statement: “Napoli Calcio thanks Cristiano Giuntoli for the 8 years of collaboration with the President Aurelio De Laurentiis, with the chief executive officer Andrea Chiavelli and with the coaches who led the team.”
Giuntoli has been with Napoli since 2015, having previously held roles at Carpi Spezia.
He was influential in assembling Napoli’s team who lifted their first Serie A title in 33 years, discovering the likes of Victor Osimhen Kim Min Jae and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia
His departure is part of a series of changes at the Italian club in preparation for the 2023-24 season.
This month has been a busy one for us. Rudi Garcia was named as Napoli’s new coach.
The Frenchman is a seasoned manager, having managed nine clubs, including Lyon, Marseilles, Roma, and Lille.
He will be hoping to replicate Spalletti’s success, who guided Napoli to 90 points in Serie A last season.
