And now The Daily MailBenn was allegedly found to have failed a different test earlier in the year for the same substance, according to boxing insiders.

“A few of us have known about this earlier test for some time,” Top Rank promoter Frank Warren said. “That makes it even more of a scandal. More damaging to our sport than everyone thought.”

Another source, when pressed to confirm the undisclosed positive test, told The Mail on condition of anonymity: “Yes. The same stuff. Same stuff.”

After a British Boxing Board of Control investigation into the positive test, Benn, 26, now faces a possible four-year ban.

After Eubank Jr failed a test, the BBBofC declined to sanction the fight. However, the result was known in boxing for several weeks.
