The Korean entertainment industry has come to a standstill following a devastating deadly plane crash at Muan International Airport in South Korea on Sunday. Many projects have been delayed in the wake of the crisis including the Birthday content of BTS V aka Kim Taehyung. The K-pop idol, who is currently completing his mandatory military service, turned 29 on Monday, December 30.
V’s agency BigHit Music had plans to release special content to pay tribute to the ‘Layover’ hitmaker. However, now the agency has postponed the release to mourn the loss of the victims of the tragic plane crash. In a statement released on social media, the agency said , “We express our deepest condolences to the victims who lost their lives in the recent aviation accident and to their loved ones.”
They continued, “We would like to inform you that V’s birthday content, originally scheduled to be released today on December 30th, 2024 (KST) will not take place today. We ask for your generous understanding. Thank you.”

All passengers and most of the crew onboard a Jeju Air flight have died after the plane crash-landed at an airport in South Korea on Sunday. A total of 179 of the 181 people travelling on the Boeing 737-800 were killed, with just two survivors – both cabin staff – pulled from the burning wreckage.
The plane landed at Muan International Airport in the country’s south, skidding off the runway and crashing into a wall in a fiery explosion.
