Baby Elephant Collapses and Cries for Hours After Being Rejected by His Mother

While it’s not uncommon for elephant mothers to abandon weak or injured calves, Zhuang Zhuang was devastated by the rejection. Realizing he would not be reunited with his mother, he collapsed in despair, tears streaming down his face.
For five hours, the sanctuary staff worked tirelessly to comfort the baby elephant, but his cries of anguish continued. He hid under a blanket, refusing to be consoled, and cried until his eyes were swollen.
An Unbreakable Bond
The sanctuary staff attempted to reunite Zhuang Zhuang with his mother, but the attempt only led to more heartbreak. The mother elephant, still overwhelmed, tried to stomp him again, forcing the staff to separate them permanently for his safety.
Eventually, one of the keepers at the sanctuary stepped in to adopt Zhuang Zhuang. Through patience and love, they formed a bond that brought a sense of comfort and security to the baby elephant.
