A Heartbreaking Call for Help
A rescuer from the Dog Rescue Shelter of Mladenovac, Serbia, received an urgent call about a mother dog and her puppies struggling to survive in a remote field. Knowing they had little time, he set out to locate the vulnerable family, but the vastness of the field made his search seem nearly impossible.
Following His Instincts
As he scanned the area, his instincts led him to a rundown warehouse filled with discarded sand and cement bags. In one corner of the dimly lit space, he found what he was looking for—a young, malnourished mama dog and her five sickly puppies, huddled together for warmth and comfort. It was clear they had been abandoned there, left to fend for themselves without food or water for days.
A Mother’s Struggle to Survive
The mama dog, just two years old, appeared exhausted yet immensely relieved to see the rescuer. Despite her own weakened state, she had done everything she could to protect and nurture her puppies for over a month. As the rescuer approached, she allowed him to handle her puppies, trusting him completely with her precious family.
Medical Attention and a New Beginning
Upon closer inspection, the rescuer noticed that both the mother and her puppies were suffering from painful infections caused by demodectic mange. Without wasting time, he secured the family and transported them to the shelter, where they received healing, medicated baths to ease their suffering and remove the parasites.
Hope for a Brighter Future
Now safely at the shelter, the mother dog and her puppies are on the road to recovery. Once their health is fully restored, they will be put up for adoption, with the hope of finding loving homes where they will never experience neglect again. Their story is a reminder of the resilience of animals and the impact of compassion in transforming lives.
