Another match passes without a start for Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo.
Out of favour under manager Ruben Amorim, he asked for a loan away in the summer transfer window but ended up staying, and before the match, Amorim underlined his talent is not enough.
“For some guys it is enough (their talent), but for (Mainoo) it is not enough,” the Portuguese head coach said. “I believe in him a lot, he is a top, top player, but he can be so much better.
“He needs to have the technical ability that he has, but he needs more pace. He needs to understand the position better. He needs to play in different speeds. Sometimes it’s lower. Sometimes it’s faster, and I think he can improve on that.”
Will be interesting to see if and when he comes off the bench later.
