‘Our Unwritten Seoul’ ending explained: Did Mi-ji and Ho-su get married? Do Mi-rae and Se-jin say goodbye?

Park Bo-young, Park Jin-young, and Ryu Kyung-soo starrer ‘Our Unwritten Seoul‘s ending did not fall short of expectations. Every character was given a perfect closure, and we thank writer Lee Kang for that.

The storyline follows the journey of identical twin sisters Mi-ji and Mi-rae (played by Bo-young). Though they share the same faces, their lives are poles apart. Mi-ji is a perfectionist working in a corporate job, while Mi-rae is outgoing and does different jobs to make ends meet. One day, they decide to switch places, leading to a story about healing, second chances, life lessons, and personal growth.

Our Unwritten Seoul‘s final episode, almost one and a half hours long, sees Mi-ji and Mi-rae’s growth as they learn to follow their heart. On the other hand, Ho-su (played by Bo-young) finds the true meaning of love and gives it a second chance. Scroll down to read what happened in the last episode of the Netflix show.

‘Our Unwritten Seoul’ ending explained:

What happens to Ho-su and Mi-ji? The twelfth episode of the Netflix series opens with Lee Ho-su realizing his mistake and apologizing to Mi-ji for being selfish and breaking her heart. He promises to stay by her side even though it gets hard.

Did Mi-rae accept Se-jin’s US offer? The answer is no. Se-jin moves to the US sans Mi-rae. Instead of joining his company abroad, Mi-rae chooses to work on the strawberry farm as its new owner. They say goodbye but promise to stay in touch with each other.

What happens to Ro-sa? We still can’t get over Rosa/Sang-wol’s backstory. In the end, Ro-sa doesn’t have to give up anything as the truth about her past is out and accepted. The legal battles are over, thanks to Ho-su and Mi-ji. She begins learning how to read and lives her life peacefully. She offers Mi-ji to work with her, but she turns it down, saying that she already has something on her mind.

What happens to Won-sul?: Mi-ji’s grandmother Won-sul’s death is one of the most heartbreaking moments of the final episode. As her health deteriorates, she expresses her wish to return home. Honouring her request, her family brings her home, knowing that she will die soon. One night, Mi-ji dreams of her grandmother walking without experiencing any pain. As Mi-ji struggles to let her go, she eventually comes to terms with it, promising her that she will live her life with no regrets.

What happens after Won-sul’s death? Mi-ji decides to follow her heart and is now in college studying psychology. On the other hand, Mi-rae is working on the strawberry farm. Ho-su learns sign language to help his clients.

Do Mi-ji and Ho-su get married? The answer is no. After she finds a ring in Ho-su’s drawer, she tells him that she is not ready for marriage. She tells him she wants to be a therapist. Ho-su supports her decision, saying, “You know, the one who loves more is supposed to wait. And I’m good at waiting.”

What happens to Mi-rae and Se-jin? Se-jin is back from the US and reunites with Mi-rae, who is equally happy to see him. The scene ends with them flaunting their bright smiles. Do they end up dating? It’s an open ending.
