The cameo that no one expected! Australian actor-film producer Cate Blanchett makes a special appearance in the third season of Netflix’s hit show ‘Squid Game‘.
In the final episode, Cate’s character on the streets of Los Angeles is seen instructing a homeless person to play Ddakji, a game from seasons I and II. If he loses, he gets slapped in the face. This is similar to Gong Yoo’s character as ‘The Recruiter’ in earlier seasons.
The Oscar-winning actress’ cameo as the American recruiter hints that a US version of ‘Squid Game’ is happening soon. It was previously reported that a new English-language Squid Game series is in the works, with David Fincher directing it. In an earlier interview with Games Radar, ‘Squid Game’ creator Hwang Dong-hyuk had reacted to the possibility of a US version, saying, “If (David Fincher) actually were to do the spin-off, I personally, as a fan, am very excited to see what happens. I can’t wait to see what he has in store.”
