The old Avengers are gone, now it’s time for the new ones to save the universe. That’s why Marvel has assembled an unconventional team of antiheroes in Thunderbolts*, including Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, and John Walker. After finding themselves ensnared in a death trap set by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, this gang of misfits embark on a dangerous mission that forces them to confront the darkest corners of their pasts.
It happens when newcomer Bob aka Sentry’s alter-ego Void, whose dark powers are said to be stronger than all of the Avengers rolled into one, takes over New York spreading an ominous matte black shadow, consuming all humans, and transporting them to a different reality. Yelena and her dysfunctional group have to go on a redemption arc and unite to defeat the threat before it’s too late. Fortunately, they manage to get Bob under control and what follows suit is an exciting post-credit scene that establishes this film’s connection with the next MCU offering ‘Fantastic Four: The First Steps.’

Thunderbolts* end credit explained:
Well, all the anti-heroes in Thunderbolts* were revealed to be the “New Avengers” in the climax but apparently, that wasn’t enough. Wondering why? Because Sam Wilson, the new Captain America, doesn’t agree with the decision. Moreover, he has filed a copyright lawsuit against the Thunderbolts* team over naming themselves as the “New Avengers.”

But worry not because the Red Guardian has found a solution to tackle the issue. He advised everyone to call themselves Avengerz with a ‘Z.’ Before anyone could react, an emergency alarm goes off, thereby confirming the biggest reveal. We’re shown an extradimensional object nearing Earth-616’s orbit, which was later revealed to be the spaceship of the brand new Fantastic Four team.
Well, that’s where the credit ends but it has set a foundation for the events of Avengers: Doomsday.
