Chelsea again topped the table for spending on agent fees as Premier League clubs spent more than £400million ($527m) over the last two transfer windows.
The west London club spent £60.3m after signing the likes of Joao Felix, Pedro Neto and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to take their outlay in the three years under the Clearlake Capital-Todd Boehly ownership group to £179m.
The figures are calculated for the period between February 2, 2024 to February 3, 2025 and published by the English Football Association.
Manchester City spent £52m on fees for representatives over that time after Savinho’s arrival in the summer was followed by Omar Marmoush, Nico Gonzalez, Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis in a bumper winter window.
Manchester United’s healthy summer recruitment saw them sign off £33m for agents after the signings of Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs De Ligt, Joshua Zirkzee and Noussair Mazraoui. Patrick Dorgu also arrived under new head coach Ruben Amorim in January.
Aston Villa round out the top four spenders in the English top flight after a busy winter window that included the signings of Donyell Malen, Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio.
The total spend of £409.1m is slightly less than the total figure reported for 2023-24, the first time the total has decreased since the figures have been made public.
Leeds United’s £18.8m sees them top the table for Championship clubs, far outstripping promotion rivals Burnley (£5.5m) and Sheffield United (£4.4m).
Chelsea also top the spend for the women’s game with the Women’s Super League champions spending £622,000 compared to £288,000 for Manchester City, £220,000 for Arsenal and £208,000 for Manchester United.
