A Heartbreaking Beginning
Baby was just two years old when the people she trusted most tied her up and abandoned her. Scared and confused, she waited, hoping someone would find her and take her to safety.
Luckily, kind-hearted rescuers did just that. She was taken to Animal Charity of Ohio, a shelter in Youngstown, Ohio, where she was given the care and love she desperately needed.
At first, Baby was full of hope—believing that soon, a family would pick her out of the crowd and bring her home. But as the days turned into years, she continued to wait… for seven long years.
A Shelter Favorite, But Still No Home
Despite spending most of her life in a shelter, Baby’s sweet and affectionate nature never faded. She became a beloved favorite among the shelter staff, always eager for cuddles and playtime.
But for some reason, potential adopters kept passing her by.
Then, everything changed. Lake Humane Society, an adoption center in Mentor, Ohio, heard Baby’s story and knew they had to help. They reached out to Animal Charity of Ohio and arranged to transfer her to their facility, giving her a fresh chance to find a forever home.
Baby Gets a Second Chance
After saying goodbye to the friends who had cared for her for years, Baby made the journey to her new adoption center. The staff at Lake Humane Society welcomed her with open arms, amazed by how kind and affectionate she was.
“She deserves a life full of comfort, love, and the family she’s always dreamed of,” they wrote in her adoption profile, hoping that someone would finally see the incredible dog she is.
A Taste of Home and a Future Full of Hope
To help Baby adjust to home life, a Lake Humane volunteer took her in for a weekend foster stay. Baby couldn’t contain her joy and excitement.
“She was doing zoomies in the house. She loved the couch and dog beds. She acted like she’d always been there,” the volunteer shared with WKYC.
Despite being nine years old, Baby still has the playfulness and energy of a young pup. She adores stuffed toys, car rides, and cuddles—and most of all, she’s ready to love a family of her own.
All she needs is someone to give her a chance. After seven years of waiting, she deserves nothing less than a happily ever after.
