The Marvel Cinematic Universe has many projects on the horizon. They’ve brought back Robert Downey Jr to play villain Dr Doom and the Russo Brothers to direct the fifth and sixth Avengers films. Amid this, ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ star Charlie Cox making a cameo in an Avengers movie has spread like wildfire on the internet.
Well, he has already made a cameo in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ and back in December, one of his trainers wrote in an Instagram post, “Charlie is currently training for his role in the upcoming Avengers movie.” Although the caption was edited later, eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice the massive update. Now, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Charlie Cox clarified the gym photo fiasco.
He was in Australia at the time to spend Christmas with his family. “And on the last day, they (trainers at the gym) asked if they could take a picture with me, which we did. I had said to them, ‘I’m getting ready to play Daredevil,’ ’cause I am! I’m getting ready to play Daredevil in season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. Sometimes people who aren’t really in the [entertainment] world, they don’t understand the terminology or whatever, but for some reason they posted that and they put ‘getting ready for his role in the Avengers,’ which is not true.”
Charlie Cox claimed he felt terrible and, “had to call my bosses and say, ‘I didn’t say that,’ obviously. Why would I say that? Why would I make something like that up? But I don’t think they made it up. I think they just got confused about what it is. I don’t know.”
Cox’s upcoming show ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is set to release on March 4 on Disney Plus.
