Newmarket tips
New London, 11/10
This horse, trained by Charlie Appleby, and ridden William Buick is a strong contender for the ‘bounce-back’.
The strike-rate and form aren’t quite as high as they used to be.
New London is fresh off a long break. He has a first-time tongue tie, and this will be his first race since an October wind op, so he should have become accustomed to it by now.
On paper, it appears that his form improved in his absence. He finished second in Group 1, behind Eldar Eldarov, in the St Leger race on September 11, which was a much better result than his rivals.

Brad The Brief, 12.55
Oisin Murphy, who is an all-weather specialist, rode this horse to a great price in the Chipchase Stakes.
He should do well on all-weather in his third try. This is an interesting runner after a 259 day break. His last appearance was in October.
Can be forgiven that he lost his left shoe and ran in a Group 1 race at Ascot.

All-weather is a good option for him as he doesn’t enjoy the firmer surface. He showed great form when he returned to action in 2022. He won well ahead of Glen Shiel, and then went on to win the Group 2 Greenlands Stakes just two weeks after that.
This contest is incredibly open, and with odds as low as 7/2 it could be one to watch.
2.05: Post Impressionist 13/2 & Matchless 66/1 each-way
Matchless, a 66/1 runner who has been in our tips several times over hurdles, is the first horse we will look at.
La Pulga won the race and he finished two lengths behind.
He’s being tested over 2m, which is a trip that seems to be optimal on the flat because he shows great stamina.
Some might look at his all-weather record and dismiss him, but this 2m may well improve and is worth backing even if only for a very small stake.
It shouldn’t be too far out of reach for him, at least, not at 66/1. He is also given a lot of weight, which will help his chances.
Post Impressionist is a more realistic bet. It’s a good price for the in-form trainer and jockey Tom Marquand, and a horse that has progressed well as a 3-year-old. He should do even better at four.
Curragh tips
Never Ending Story 3:25
The Pretty Polly Stakes will feature a 1m2f Group 1 for fillies, mares and their foals. Over 175,000 Euros are at stake.
Above The Curve (and Via Sistina) are among the top horses in the field. The prices for these two horses start at just 5/2.
The owners of Above The Curve, Michael Tabor, Derrick Smith and Westerberg are all wearing navy blue silks. Never Ending Story is 9/2 outsider.
The top jockey Ryan Moore will saddle up on the joint favourite for trainer Joseph Patrick O’Brien. O’Brien was disappointing on his return to the track this season, but bounced right back with an impressive win in the Prix Corrida.
Via Sistina beat Al Husn at the Dahlia Stakes, but it appears that her form is not as good as she showed on debut in this season.
Never Ending Story has been so close to the market due to a few reasons. She is a young horse and could be the first Group 1 horse, but she also gets 10lb off the rest of the field because of her age.
Last time she raced at Chantilly, in the Prix de Diane (a 1m2f race), she was beaten by Blue Rose Cen by four lengths. Her weight advantage shouldn’t deter her from this run.
Moore and his team were still of the opinion that her performance was below par compared to that of her rivals. This gives her an excellent chance.
Moore on his explanation BetfairBlog: “I’d say that Never Ending Story, together with the Irish 2.000 Guineas, is a very deadly rival. ComhraShe is receiving 10lb more from older horses. “We felt that she underperformed after her good reappearance victory in the French 1,000 Guineas, and was very much like herself when she finished second in the French Oaks to a dominant victor.”
4.00: Al Riffa 11/10
Five runners are competing for the prize money of 59,000 Euros in the Paddy Power International Stakes.
Al Riffa is the horse at the top of the betting market. The three-year old trained by Joseph Patrick O’Brien is carrying 9-4. This is his first race of the season and he has been upped from 7f to a 1m2f trip.
Similar to Alfred Munnings. Trained by Aidan O’Brien, and ridden Ryan Moore. But has had a much longer break, totaling 378 days.
Early odds indicate that Al Riffa is the winner.
This is largely due to the fact that his form was boosted by Proud And Regal who he defeated at the Curragh Stakes back in September.
This horse won the Criterium International and placed third in the Derby Trial in Leopardstown. It was only six lengths behind Paddington when it ran in May.
Alfred Munnings only has two runs under 7f. On his debut, he was the runaway winner, but lost the Chesham Stakes in Royal Ascot, 2022, as the 11/8 favorite to Holloway Boy.
Although it would not be surprising to see a significant improvement in the performance of this horse after the Irish trainer’s expert training.
