The trailer for the upcoming movie has been released BarbieMargot Robbie’s film has caused quite a stir all over the globe. Social media is flooded with memes and posters about the doll as people eagerly await its release. This news was overshadowed however by an even more serious development: Trump’s indictment for 34 felonies related to falsifying business records.
Surprisingly a 1994 episode was the first to air on the popular TV program. The Simpsons titled ‘Lisa vs. Malibu Stacy’ featured a plot that resembled these current events.

Lisa convinces Malibu Stacy, the creator of the Barbie-inspired doll, to create a new doll called Lisa Lionheart. She becomes a huge success and makes the news. A news anchor reports at the end about the doll’s popularity, saying “It’s just really fascinating, news folks.” Good evening. The anchor adds, however, that the president had been arrested.
It has been noted that the episode is very similar to current events. A Twitter user uploaded screenshots of this episode with the caption “This literally is the news today,” and it has been liked more than 60,000 times.

This is not the first occasion that this has been done. The SimpsonsHe has been credited for predicting the future. An episode that aired 2000 showed one of the show’s writers predicting Donald Trump’s election to the presidency.
The events of The SimpsonsWhile the show may have predicated real-life events in some ways, it is evident that it has been a cultural landmark that continues its fascination with audiences. The current news cycle is dominated by the Trump charges. They serve as a reminder about the ex-president’s ongoing legal battles. The hype around the new NBC series is a good example of this. BarbieWhile the popularity of movies may fade, it is still very popular. The SimpsonsIt will endure.
