Michael Cohen, the former personal lawyer and fixer of President Donald Trump, believes that the Department of Justice must investigate whether Trump photocopied any top-secret documents and kept them.

Cohen responded to a Report from The New York TimesHow Trump was upset by the National Archives and Records Administration’s refusals to give him documents about the FBI investigation into Russian interference during the 2016 presidential election.
According to The Times’ report, Trump said that he would give NARA all the documents he had at Mar-a-Lago if they gave him what he asked.
Commenting on Trump’s actions, Cohen said the former president appeared to be using a tactic from his book “The Art of the Deal” and trying to trade “this for that.”
“This whole issue seems insane. It is absurd that we must play this game with a former president. Cohen stated that Trump wasn’t entitled to the documents he requested.
Cohen said that they were not his first and foremost. We also know that he has many more documents. Because the file folder would indicate the number of documents within it, we know this. There are many more.
“On top, we should find to what extent he photocopied any other documents,” he said.
Cohen also wondered aloud why Trump — after being president for four years — didn’t attempt to get the documents while he was in office.
Insider asked for comment from Trump’s post-presidential media office, but a spokesperson did not immediately reply.
Cohen’s Sunday remarks echoed his September comments about Trump most likely keeping them. Copies of classified files at his children’s homes, his Bedminster golf course in New Jersey, and Trump Tower in New York.
