The Coast Guard saved two people and a dog from Sanibel Island after Hurricane Ian.

Following Hurricane Ian’s fury, the U.S. Coast Guard released a video of one of the numerous rescues in southwest Florida on Saturday.

A member of the MH65 Miami Dolphin aircrew could be seen in a USCG Atlantic Area Command video descending from a helicopter onto a Sanibel Island home in preparation for a rescue.

The airman in the video’s epilogue welcomes a man, a woman, and a dog who had become stranded on the island.

According to the page the crew also performed many other rescues in the immediate vicinity at the same time.

Clearwater, Miami and St. Petersburg crews assisted in the rescue of more people and animals. Many videos were posted to the USCG Southeast social media channels.

The Coast Guard reported Saturday afternoon that 442 Hurricane Ian victims had been saved in Florida and South Carolina by teams, which included 89 animals.

In support of search and rescue operations in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian, more than 118 USCG aircraft have taken to the skies since Wednesday.
