- The day it went on sale, I purchased the new iPhone 14 Pro Max.
- I was able to get $640 back when I traded in my iPhone 13 Pro Max. However, I still had $780 to pay.
- Although I was excited by the “Dynamic Islands” feature, I should have listened more to Steve Jobs’ daughter.
Since the iPhone 4S launched, I have been one of Apple’s top customers for over a decade. I’ve purchased every iPhone since switching from a BlackBerry phone to an iPhone 4S.
This year has been no different. The day after its September 17 release, I purchased a iPhone 14 Pro Max, with 256GB storage, in Silver. My iPhone 13 Pro Max was traded in and I got $640, but I still had the $780.
After spending a few weeks playing with my new toy I can confidently state that there are no major surprises. The exception being the “Dynamic Island”. Apple calls the dead space between the Face ID sensor and the selfie camera “Dynamic Island”, which is Apple’s fancy term for the area that allows you to consolidate your notifications, alerts and activities into one interactive location.
My colleague Antonio Villas-BoasI can’t tell you about all the technical aspects of Apples latest products so I will just focus on how it was like to use.
Steve Jobs’s daughter was right
Eve Jobs, the daughter and cofounder of Apple, was correct when she posted an Instagram meme that made fun of the apple. iPhone 14It is strikingly similar to the old model.
It says: “Me upgrading iPhone 13 to iPhone 14 following Apple’s announcement today” and shows a man holding up the shirt he is wearing.
The newest smartphones have many new software features. However, I am disappointed that there aren’t more.
I admit I was very excited about the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max going fullscreen – especially now the notch has gone.
I must admit that Dynamic Islands is a very cool feature. It’s easy to press the button while listening to music, and it will take you back to your application. However, it could have been more effective.
I’ve had the iPhone 13 Pro Max for a while and have not noticed any significant differences. The smartphone may be as good as they come.
Apple
Nonsense
I find many excuses to justify spending hundreds on a new iPhone: I use it for work, to document reporting trips, to ensure the battery lasts all day and to support all the other things I do on it. Let’s just call it nonsense.
Even an old iPhone 8 (from 2017?) could do the job. But, the appeal of having the most current mobile phone is not to be admired by your friends.
Apple CEO Tim Cook told someone who asked him whether Apple would adopt RCS – a messaging app developed by Google for Android mobiles – so his mom could more easily see the videos he sends her that he should buy his mom an iPhone.
Cook believes everyone should own an iPhone. However, there are AirPods as well as iPads, MacBooks and MacBooks to choose from. Yes, all of these devices are my own.
Although I have always maintained that I can’t change from an iPhone or Android to my iPhone, there are plenty of people who have done it and survived. Perhaps it’s high time that I also took an iOS vacation.
