Jill Biden, first ladyHispanic Heritage Month is being planned, but the organizer has yet to comment on it after three months of being mocked for comparing Latinos with “breakfast tacos.”
Fox News Digital’s Elizabeth Alexander, communications director, confirmed that the first lady would host a Hispanic Heritage Month celebration at the White House. She will also continue to engage with the community while she travels across the country. The date and other details of the reception are not known.
Despite plans to celebrate Hispanic Heritage MonthJill Biden has yet to make public statements about the celebration.

During her speech the First lady told the crowd that “the diversity of this community — as distinct as the bodegas of the Bronx, as beautiful as the blossoms of Miami and as unique as the breakfast tacos here in San Antonio — is your strength.”
Many people were able to take part in the speech. Hispanic GOP CandidatesBiden was slammed for her remarks, along with Alexis Martinez Johnson who is the GOP nominee to represent New Mexico’s 3rd Congressional District.
“As a Hispanic woman who has a rich culture filled with ancestors who struggled against all manner of obstacles and poverty, it’s grossly offensive to compare my people to tacos,” Johnson told Fox News Digital.

The first lady’s press secretary issued a statement on behalf of her, apologizing for the Hispanic community.
The statement stated that “the first lady regrets her words of admiration and love for Latino community”

September 15th marked the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month. Several Democrats ran in this year’s elections. midterm electionthey have made statements in celebration of the community.
Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto, D-Nev., tweeted, “Today marks the start of #HispanicHeritageMonth. My state is home to vibrant Hispanic & Latin American communities, and it’s an important time to celebrate our rich traditions and contributions to this country. It’s the honor of my life to serve as the first Latina in the Senate.”
